Mission, Vision & Values
By CT Green Bank 17 Oct, 2023
Our vision is a planet protected by the love of humanity. This statement was inspired by many people including Mary Evelyn Tucker of the Yale Divinity School, the late Mother Jennifer from the Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception, and the late Maya Angelou, particularly her poem “On the Pulse of Morning.” This poem speaks to the struggle for social and environmental justice and is as poignant today as it was when it was written. We cannot have environmentalism without humanitarianism.
About CT Green Bank
By CT Green Bank 17 Oct, 2023
A green bank accelerates the green economy using limited public dollars to attract multiples of private capital investment. In doing so, clean energy is more affordable and accessible to consumers. Established by the Connecticut General Assembly in July 2011, the Connecticut Green Bank supports the Governor’s and Legislature’s energy strategy to achieve cleaner, less expensive, and more reliable sources of energy while creating jobs and supporting local economic development. In 2021, the Green Bank’s model was expanded to include new areas of environmental infrastructure, related to climate adaptation and resiliency, land conservation, parks and recreation, agriculture, water, waste and recycling, and environmental markets, including carbon offsets and ecosystem services.
Strategy + Impact
By CT Green Bank 17 Oct, 2023
Since the Connecticut Green Bank’s inception through the bipartisan legislation in July 2011, we have mobilized more than $2.26 billion of investment into the State’s green economy. We have attracted $2.26 billion in private investment using only $322.4 million in Green bank dollars, a leverage ratio of $7.00 for every $1. The impact of our deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency to families, businesses, and our communities is shown in terms of economic development, environmental protection, equity, and energy (data from FY 2012 through FY 2022). Learn more about how our impact is mobilizing Conneticut's green economy.
Social Impact
By CT Green Bank 17 Oct, 2023
The Green Bank has identified a number of societal benefits, including our E4 (energy, environmental, economy, equity) metrics, that accrue from the installation and operation of clean energy projects.
